PUMP STATIONS

Critical engineering and environmental concerns are always important considerations regarding the design and construction of pump stations.

Pump Stations

Pump stations are critical to keeping oil and other liquids moving along a pipeline when they have to go against gravity.

On one project in Louisiana, Wood Group provided detailed engineering and design, including equipment and material specifications for two gas turbine-driven pump stations. Major equipment and materials featured a Solar Taurus 60 gas turbine driver, Union centrifugal pump units, pump building and canopy, fuel gas conditioning system, lube oil system, vent and drain systems that included below-grade sump pump installation, mainline and meter station tie-ins, piping, valves and fittings and other permanent materials.

Wood Group prepared construction drawings and specifications including site grading and drainage, soil erosion and sedimentation control, foundations, fencing and structural steel improvements. All soil survey activities at the two work sites were managed by Wood Group.
