Wood Group provides first-in-class production facility work, including, but not limited to, design, engineering and upgrading. Near Andrews, Texas USA, Wood Group completed one production facility project, consisting of facility modifications and additions to optimize the production of this CO2 tertiary project. Wood Group's work scope included engineering and sizing of "F" compressor (14 MMscfD @ 1,650 psig), which is a skid-mounted Ariel JGC/6 compressor (with suction and discharge bottles) driven by a Westinghouse 4,370 Bhp synchronous electric motor. Included in this project were:
Four scrubbers
Gas coolers
Interconnecting pipe and automated block valves
Compressor panel
Engineering and sizing of a new inlet filter separator
Upgrading "E" compressor, which involved replacing the gas engine with a synchronous electric motor
Recylindering the fourth stage and upgrading the control panel
De-bottlenecking gas dehydration to improve efficiencies by installing air-cooled glycol heat exchanger and replacing the bubble cap trays in the contactor with valve trays to decrease pressure drop and foaming tendencies
Upgrading the electrical system to accommodate the addition of two electric motors and other equipment
